The Chiefs' defense may have some hope after all. Less than 24 hours after beating the Giants on Monday night, there are reports surfacing that Kansas City has traded for Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Melvin Ingram:

Ingram, who was a first round pick out of South Carolina back in 2021, signed with Pittsburgh in the offseason after spending the first nine seasons of his career with the LA Chargers. This season, Ingram has one sack, six QB hits, and 11 hurries in 140 pass-rush attempts. He's currently on a one-year, $4 million contract.

The move looks to bolster a Chiefs' defensive front that has been among the league's worst all year. Through the first eight weeks of the 2021 season, Kansas City ranks 28th in team pass rush win rate (35%) and dead last in run stop win rate (25%). Only two teams -- the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Atlanta Falcons -- have less sacks than the Chiefs (8).
