3 people submitted for consideration for Lackawanna County commissioner vacancy

Members of the Lackawanna County Democratic Executive committee cast their vote for three candidates to move the process forward to the Court of Common Pleas in choosing the next majority County Commissioner, following the resignation of Matt McGloin late last week. According to reports, the 3 candidates are Brenda Sacco - Former Economic Director for Lackawanna County, Brenda Sacco, James Baldan, and Current Scranton School Board Director, Robert Casey.  County Solicitor Donald Fredrickson said even though McGloin submitted his resignation, he is not technically out of the position yet. That can only happen once Democrat Commissioner Bill Gaughan and Republican Commissioner Chris Chermak vote to accept his resignation at the next Board of Commissioners meeting, scheduled for March 5.
