Charges filed in skimming device fraud at local Walmart

Charges have been filed against a suspect accused of illegally obtaining account numbers through a card skimming device in Wilkes Barre Twp. Police say charges are being filed against Florin Doroiman, who is accused of illegally obtaining approximately 4,600 account numbers, including more than 1,000 SNAP benefit accounts. Two card-skimming devices were planted on assigned cashier checkout registers at the Wilkes-Barre Township Walmart back in December. Police believe Doroiman is a member of an organized Romanian criminal syndicate, and is currently incarcerated in Virginia and will be extradited to face charges in Pennsylvania.
