An early morning fire heavily damaged an abandoned building in Luzerne County on Friday. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene shortly after 1:00 a.m. after reports of heavy smoke and flames coming from a residential structure along Girard Avenue in Plymouth.
Firefighters arrived to find active flames ripping through the property, but crews were able to successfully contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to neighboring homes. Officials confirmed that because the building was vacant, no injuries were reported during the incident. The cause of the early morning fire remains under active investigation by local authorities.
