SCRANTON, PA — The Scranton Municipal Recreation Authority has enacted a ban prohibiting electric bicycles and other motorized personal vehicles from operating on grounds, roadways, and pedestrian pathways throughout Nay Aug Park.
The policy change was officially posted via new signage in the window of the park’s community building reading "No e-bikes or other e-vehicles" in bold red lettering. Officials instituted the restriction following mounting safety concerns from visitors and board members regarding high-speed motorized devices navigating congested walking trails alongside pedestrians, families, and young children.
While authorities acknowledge that public awareness of the new prohibition remains in its early stages, park management noted that individuals caught violating the ban will be reported to the Scranton Police Department, with further enforcement or citations issued if necessary.
