TUNKHANNOCK, PA — An Olyphant woman was sentenced Tuesday morning in Wyoming County Court to serve 6 to 13½ years in state prison for causing a drug-impaired head-on crash that claimed the life of her 6-year-old daughter and seriously injured two others.
Wyoming County President Judge Russell D. Shurtleff handed down the sentence to 45-year-old Samantha Damski following her guilty plea to charges including involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence.
The conviction stems from a collision that occurred on Nov. 1, 2025, along Route 6 in Clinton Township. According to Pennsylvania State Police investigators, Damski was operating a vehicle westbound while under the influence of cocaine when she crossed into oncoming traffic east of the Hearth Stone Apartments and struck another vehicle head-on.
Damski’s 6-year-old daughter, Olivia Rae Ciullo, suffered catastrophic injuries in the wreck and died five days later on Nov. 6, 2025. The occupants of the opposing vehicle, identified as Robert and Sherri Aten, both sustained serious injuries in the collision.
Following the sentencing proceeding in Tunkhannock, Damski was remanded to state correctional custody to begin serving her term.
