Crews with Pennsylvania American Water have finished repairs on a 24-inch water main in the 200 block of North Washington Avenue following a break Monday morning that disrupted local residents and downtown businesses. The incident marks the second major water main break in the area this month, following a similar break on July 16 near North Washington Avenue and Mulberry Street.
As service is restored, customers may experience low water pressure and temporary discoloration. A boil water advisory remains in effect while required water quality testing is completed. Meanwhile, all Lackawanna County buildings affected by Monday's break have reopened as of 11 a.m.
