SCRANTON, PA — The former business manager of the Ritz Theater, James Olecki of Clarks Summit, pleaded not guilty to theft charges on Wednesday, according to a press release from his attorney.

Olecki was arrested in March for allegedly using a company credit card to make unauthorized payments through CashApp. However, Olecki's legal representation maintains his innocence, claiming the charges are part of a "smear campaign" by Ritz Theater owner Joshua Balz.

A preliminary hearing was not held on Wednesday, and the case will now proceed to Trial Court.
