An independent movie production company based in New York City is coming to Lackawanna County this fall to film a new thriller, bringing a $1.3 million economic boost and local employment opportunities to the region.
Cardinal Flix officials announced at a Tuesday news conference in Scranton that they plan to film the movie, titled "Arachnophilia," at several area landmarks this October. The production schedule includes a multi-day shoot at Keystone College in La Plume Township, as well as several scenes filmed at Lackawanna College.
The production will offer both on-camera and off-camera roles for local residents. Area community members interested in offering additional shooting locations, appearing as secondary or background actors, or working behind the scenes on the crew can fill out an application form available on the social media accounts for "Arachnophilia Film."
