DALLAS TWP., PA — Three Monroe County residents are facing multiple felony charges after they were allegedly caught burglarizing a vacant industrial building late Monday night.
Dallas Township Police were dispatched to the former Offset Paperback Manufacturing building around 10:00 P.M. after receiving reports of unauthorized individuals inside the facility. Upon arrival, officers intercepted a vehicle attempting to flee the property.
Inside the vehicle, police discovered a significant amount of evidence, including:
Scrap metal pipes and various industrial tools.
A Genie lift (aerial work platform).
Multiple instruments of crime used to enter the building.
The three suspects, all residents of Tobyhanna, were identified as James Scebes, 53, Susan Travers, 46, and David Yeakel, 56. All three have been charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, theft by unlawful taking, and possession of instruments of crime.
Following their arraignment, Scebes and Yeakel were remanded to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility. Travers was released on unsecured bail.
The Offset Paperback facility, once a major employer in the region, has been vacant for several years, making it a frequent target for trespassing and theft. Police say this remains an active investigation.
