With the July 4th holiday fast approaching, state officials are reminding boaters to stay safe on the water. Representatives from PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission gathered at Lake Wallenpaupack in Wayne County to highlight boating safety and the dangers of drinking while operating a boat.
In Pennsylvania, it’s illegal to operate a boat with a blood alcohol level over 0.08. State police say they’ll have an increased presence on the water now through Independence Day weekend, cracking down on impaired boating to help keep everyone safe.
