Pennsylvania American Water has announced that a section of the walking path around the Lake Scranton reservoir will be closed to pedestrian traffic starting today and lasting through the end of September.
The closure impacts the portion of the path from where it meets the roadway at the small stone bridge to the dam near the fishing pier. Officials said the closure is necessary as a safety precaution due to increased truck traffic while maintenance work is underway and material is being removed from the area.
Authorities are reminding the public not to walk around closed gates or fencing to access the restricted section of the path. Other portions of the popular walking trail will remain open during the maintenance period.
