Officials in the city of Scranton continue to work toward making high speed broadband internet available to 100 % of the homes and businesses over the next two years. A request asking vendors to provide a low cost program to low income households has gone out and November 6 is the deadline to submit a proposal. The vendor would participate in the FCC Affordable Connectivity Program and internet would be available in city parks, fire, police and DPW headquarters and City Hall.
