The Pennsylvania State Police have announced strict temporary traffic patterns on Route 115 to accommodate the massive influx of race fans heading to Pocono Raceway in Long Pond for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race.
To ensure a smooth flow of traffic, state police will convert Route 115 into a one-way highway at two critical points during the day:
- Before the race (Inbound): Starting at approximately 11:00 a.m., Route 115 from Interstate 80 to the raceway will be converted into two lanes traveling one-way southbound. This pattern will remain in place until the traffic heading into the track grounds has cleared.
- After the race (Outbound): With 25 laps remaining in the race, the pattern will completely flip. Route 115 from the raceway leading back to Interstate 80 will become two lanes traveling one-way northbound until the track parking lots are completely empty.
Troopers note that during the post-race exit window, no traffic will be permitted to travel south on Route 115 from Interstate 80. Commuters who are not attending the race are strongly advised to avoid the Route 115 corridor entirely on Sunday and utilize alternate routes.
