GREAT BEND TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Authorities have identified and arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with a triple homicide that occurred Monday night in Susquehanna County.

Garrett Austin Johnson, of Hallstead, was taken into custody by law enforcement a short distance from the Great Bend Township residence where the shootings took place. Investigators confirmed they have recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the killings.

Johnson faces a list of charges, including three counts of criminal homicide, simple assault, resisting arrest, and recklessly endangering another person.

Following his arrest, Johnson was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Jodi Cordner. He was denied bail and remanded to the Lackawanna County Prison.

State police noted that the names of the three victims are currently being withheld and will be released once all next of kin have been fully notified.
