
JIM THORPE, PA — Two people were killed in a helicopter crash near Penn's Peak on Wednesday, according to the Carbon County Coroner. The crash occurred in a wooded area near the 300 block of Maury Road, prompting a response from emergency crews.
Officials have confirmed that the helicopter was involved in linework at the time of the crash. The victims have been identified as the pilot and a line worker who was on board the aircraft. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are looking into the cause of the crash.
