Officials from two communities in Lackawanna County are asking the Governor to take a closer look at a proposal from Keystone Sanitary Landfill. The mayors and council members of both Scranton and Dunmore have sent a letter to Gov Tom Wolf to ask him to review an application submitted back in February by Keystone Sanitary Landfill. Owners of the landfill, in Dunmore in Throop, submitted a major permit modification application to discharge treated leachate into Little Roaring Brook in Dunmore. The State Department of Environmental Protection has been considering the request and has reviewed the application.
