
HAMDEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Hamden police have arrested a man they say fatally shot his wife, injuring himself, last month.
Hamden police arrested Derrick Miller, 57, at Meriden Superior Court on Thursday. He was charged with murder in the shooting death of Darlene Brown on December 16.
That night, officers rushed to the area of Pine Rock Avenue and Arch Street on the report of a shooting with two possible victims. Brown was found in the driver's seat of a parked car, suffering multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Miller was on the ground outside the passenger door side of the car, with a gunshot wound to the torso. He was hospitalized and treated.
On December 29, Hamden Police previously arrested Miller and charged him with criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, and illegal alteration of a firearm. He was being detained on a court-ordered $500,000.00 bond.
Miller is now being held on a court-ordered $2,000,000.00 bond.
