(NEW BRITAIN,Conn./WTIC)- New Britain Police have arrested a local man in connection witha double shooting late Thursday night on Arch Street in which one victim was killed.Officers responded to the area of 75 Arch Street shortly after 11:30 pm and found 2 men a 31 year old and a 29 year old suffering from gunshot wounds. The 31 year old was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.The 29 year old sustained non-life threatening injuries.
33 year old Ramell Bell was located hours later at a family member's house in Meriden. he is being held on $1,000,000 bond on charges of Murder,Assault,Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Use of a Firearm and Reckless Endagerment.He is due in court Monday.
Police say Bell and the victims were known to each other and the shooting appears to have been the result of an ongoing dispute.The victims names are being withheld.
Bell was already wanted on a arrest warrant out of Maine for narcotics charges.
