Back To School In New Britain

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The Consolidated School District of New Britain welcomed students back to school on Tuesday.At Smith Elementary School, that meant members of the School Safety Patrol received their badges and belts for the school year. They were the guests of honor during a brief morning ceremony.Patrollers serve a variety of functions at Smith, from helping teachers to leading students to their buses at the end of the day.New Britain has more Safety Patrol programs than any other school district in Connecticut, according to AAA.The auto club began the safety patrol program in 1920.
