Eight People Injured In Bus Vs. DOT Truck Crash

OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - State police say the driver of a tour bus has been cited, after plowing into the back of a DOT truck on  Interstate 95 in Old Saybrook Wednesday night.Troopers say the bus, heading northbound, hit a DOT crash truck in a construction zone near Exit 67 just before 11 p.m. Fourteen passengers and the driver were on the bus-- all from Queens, New York.Seven bus passengers and the driver of the DOT truck-- a Haddam man-- were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries, said police.Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.Police found the driver of the bus was at fault. He was cited for traveling too fast for conditions, failure to maintain the proper lane, and failure to move over.
