Glastonbury Man Arrested In Preston Killing

PRESTON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - State police have arrested a Glastonbury man in connection with a fatal shooting in Preston over the weekend.Francis Giannelli, 25, is charged with murder, criminal use of a weapon, and carrying a pistol without a permit, in the killing of Robert Thompson, 35, of Preston early Saturday in the area of Routes 2A and 12 in Preston, said state police.Thompson was pronounced dead after a friend drove him to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, said police.Giannelli was was held on $1 million bond pending arraignment Wednesday in Norwich Superior Court.
