HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC) - Hartford Police announced the arrests of two women in connection to the City’s 14th homicide of the year.

On July 11th, officers responded to a shooting incident at the rear of 300 Wethersfield Avenue in the City’s south end.

Responding officers later found an unresponsive victim behind Bulkeley High School suffering from a gunshot wound.  That victim, later identified as 34-year old Jorge Alicea, was transported to Hartford Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators utilized video footage from the Capitol City Command Center and the High School’s surveillance system to identify a vehicle and the suspects involved in the shooting.

Detectives applied for warrants and Friday, July 19th, 28-year old Taichany Osoria was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder – she was taken into custody without incident.

Six days later, 23-year old Cynthia Cruz was taken into custody and served with one count of Murder along with an unrelated misdemeanor warrant.

Cruz is being held on a $1,001,000 bond while Osoria is held on a $1,000,000 bond.

Hartford Police Lieutenant Paul Cicero said both suspects and the victim were known to each other and that detectives are working to find a motive.  He added the investigation is ongoing and more arrests could be coming as well.
