(South Windsor, Conn./WTIC) - South Windsor police are charging a Manchester man with DUI who, it turns out, had been wanted in Massachusetts on an unrelated sexual assault charge.
Around 7:30 Monday night, officer were dispactched to the scene of Route 5 south and the Interstate 291 eastbound entrance ramp.
One on scene, they discovered 42-year-old Humberto Guzman. Investigators say Guzman had crashed his vehicle into a utility pole.
He was arrested on the DUI charge when police say he failed a field sobriety test.
Further investigation determined there was a warrant out on Guzman in connection with a 2001 sexual assault that occurred in Framingham, Massachusetts.
He's being held on $1 million bondas a fugitive from justice, in addition to charges of DUI, failure to drive in a proper lane and driving without a license in South Windsor.
