
SUFFIELD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A Manchester woman has turned herself in to face criminal charges in connection with an animal cruelty case in Suffield, police said Monday.Rachel Kornstein, 35, faces six counts of animal cruelty. Kornstein turned herself in Saturday morning and posted $20,000 bail. She's due to be arraigned February 18 in Enfield Superior Court, said police.It was on January 3, that police say a veterinarian tipped off police that animals were being neglected. Police say they found a number of cattle, dogs and poultry deprived of food, water and medical attention at two addresses on Sheldon Street in West Suffield and at one address on North Main Street in East Granby.The state, last week, moved to take permanent custody of nearly 200 neglected animals seized in the case. Most of the animals are being cared for at the state's animal rehabilitation facility in Niantic.
