HARTFORD, Conn (WTIC Radio)_ Hartford Police have made two arrests in connection with the Wednesday afternoon armed robbery at Metro PCS on Main Street.
Police say 35-year-old Shantee Seay (photo: right) of Hartford allegedly entered the cell phone store around 3:34 in the afternoon. He displayed a silver Bersa 9mm handgun and demanded money. The cashier gave into the demands and Seay walked out with several hundred dollars.
Area surveillance footage show him getting inside an Infinity Q50 with registration that traced to 34-year-old Michael Munroe of Manchester (photo: left). Police arrested him and charged him with robbery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit obbery in the first degree, and firearms trafficking. Munroe is currently being held on a $200,000 bond.
Further investigation led to Seay's arrest on Willard Street in Hartford. He faces charges of robbery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit robbery in the first degree, criminal possession of a firearm, pistol without a permit, and possession of narcotics. He is currently being held on $300,000 bond.
Police do not believe this robbery is connected to a similar robbery, where a silver handgun was used, Tuesday night at Advanced Auto Parts.
Arraignment for both Seay and Munroe is at 10 a.m. on 2/7/2019.
