WTIC 1080 News Wethersfield, Ct. - Central District Major Crime Squad Detectives are investigating the officer involved shooting that occurred on the Silas Deane Highway around 6 o'clock last night.
Two Wethersfield officers attempted a traffic stop of a suspect’s vehicle when a collision happened between the suspect vehicle and a Wethersfield Police cruiser. When one of the officer's exited his vehicle, the suspect’s vehicle drove towards him. The officer then discharged his firearm.
The male suspect was injured and transported to Hartford Hospital. The female passenger wasn’t injured, was detained by Wethersfield Police Department and released a short time later.
