(Vernon, Conn./WTIC) - Vernon Police have made a second arrest in connection with a sexual assault case from earlier this year.
Officers are charging 53-year-old Dianne Margelony with witness tampering, interfering with police, and providing a false statement.
They say the arrest is related to the case involving 50-year-old Ronald Daniel.
He was arrested in June on a slew of charges including sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, employing a minor in an obscene performance, and risk of injury, among others.
Police say it was while investigating Daniel that Margelony encouraged a witness to lie and refuse to cooperate with police.
Investigators say Margelony and Daniel were linked romantically. They say her actions may have prolonged the abuse of the minor.
In addition, police say Margelony wasn't truthful in how, why and when she got rid of a camper where they say some of the alleged assaults took place.
Margelony has been released on $5,000 bond and is due in court November 12.
