AVON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Avon Police say a security camera on a Tesla parked at a restaurant on March 26 was able to record footage of a man who allegedly drew a swastika on it.
Police say an investigation led investigators to the man, Steven Lowell Weinberger, 40, of Avon.
Weinberger told officers he drew it with a marker on the driver's side door out of frustration with the current political climate and that he didn't know the owner of the vehicle.
Avon Police say Weinberger is being charged with second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of peace.
He is free on a $25,000 bond and is due in Hartford Community Court on April 30, 2025.
