MASHANTUCKET, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Three firefighters responding to a five-alarm fire at Foxwoods Resort Casino were hospitalized for an evaluation.
The response to the fire burning at the David Burke Prime steakhouse led to an evacuation of casino and hotel guests as a precaution.
The area was later brought under control.
Three firefighters were hospitalized for evaluations where they were treated and later released.
The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Fire Department has released the following statement:
We have provided an all-clear on the situation at the Grand Pequot Tower. The area has been deemed safe and secure. All areas of the resort including The Fox Tower, Great Cedar, Rainmaker and, now, Grand Pequot Tower have resumed normal operations and are safe to access. Fire department personnel are on scene for clean-up of the area.
Three firefighters were transported to the hospital for evaluation. The three firefighters were treated and released.
