NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Democratic Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) is in surgery Monday.
Her office says the 82-year-old DeLauro is at Griffin Hospital in Derby to undergo surgery for spinal stenosis.
Dr. Judith Gorelick, a board-certified neurosurgeon, in a statement released through her office, calls the procedure "a common treatment for a common occurrence." She is performing the procedure.
The Congresswoman will need physical therapy once she's out of surgery. DeLauro's office says she will resume her schedule while physical therapy continues and return to D.C. in September.
