HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Days before further reopening in Connecticut, the state's daily COVID-19 test positivity rate jumped.
Since Monday, the daily test positivity rate reported on Tuesday climbed to 4.96%. The pushes the seven-day statewide average to 3.2%.
Hospitalizations saw a slight decrease by four patients, to 403 total people receiving hospital care.
11 more deaths were reported. The state's death toll stands at 7,799 people.
COVID-19 restrictions are expected to be loosened on Friday. Most businesses will be able to open at 100% capacity with mask-wearing and social distancing in place.
Restaurants are going to be allowed to open at 100% capacity. However, the Connecticut Restaurant Association is calling for an end to the 11 p.m. curfew in the sector.
Theaters will remain capped at 50% occupancy.
