HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A longtime Democratic State Representative has died.
No cause of death has been announced for Representative Kevin Ryan, who served Ledyard, Montville, and Norwich for over three decades.
He recently served as a Deputy Speaker, in addition to other leadership positions during his public life.
In a statement Monday morning from Connecticut House Democrats, House Speaker Matt Ritter and Majority Leader Jason Rojas said: "the Capitol will feel emptier without him, but the impact he made on his community, on this institution, and on each of us will endure."
The Governor is ordering flags to fly at half-staff.
Rep. Ryan was 73 years old.
