WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Willimantic Police arrest one of their officers, charging him with DUI, in connection with an early March crash.
Police say Eduardo Garcia, 25, was arrested on a warrant Wednesday.
Garcia allegedly crashed a vehicle while off-duty in the area of 480 Main Street around 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
"Immediately after the accident, Garcia was placed on paid administrative leave and his police powers were suspected," according to a statement in a release from Willimantic Deputy chief Douglas Glode.
Garcia is charged with DUI, reckless driving, and evading responsibility.
Bond for Garcia is set at $100,000. He's due in court on April 9, 2024.
