MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - An elementary school student is dead following a house fire in Middlefield early Friday morning.
The heartbreaking news concerning the John Lyman Elementary School student came in a statement from Regional School District 13 Superintendent Doug Schuch:
The Middlefield Fire Department responded to the house fire on Dwight Drive around 1 a.m., where the house was fully engulfed.
One person was able to escape with a dog but officials reported another person was trapped inside.
No identities have been released.
