NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Former New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart is planning a campaign announcement on Thursday.
The Republican, who served 12 years as New Britain's mayor, filed paperwork with the State Election's Enforcement Committee (SEEC) on Monday to run for Governor in 2026.
She will be competing for the GOP nomination against State Senator Ryan Fazio (R-Greenwich) and incumbent Democratic Governor Ned Lamont and State Representative Josh Elliott (D-Hamden).
Her announcement will be held Thursday at 5 p.m. at New Britain Stadium.
