MERIDEN, CONN (WTIC RADIO)- Police arrested a Fugitive of Justice wanted in Florida found unresponsive in a vehicle on Gravel Street early this morning.
As police spoke with Josue Vasquez, 30, he explained he passed out in the vehicle after smoking marijuana with a female. As
police spoke with Vasquez , he exhibited suspicious behavior and fled on foot.
As police pursued him, Vasquez slipped out his jacket and continued running. They caught him and found him in possession of a 380 caliber handgun stolen out of Texas. Police determined Vazquez
was wanted as of Fugitive of Justice from Florida for violation of weapons and drug charges.
Vasquez is charged with interfering, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a permit, illegal possession of a firearm in a
motor vehicle and stealing a firearm. He has an October 13th court date. Florida officials are arranging his extradition.
