NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - New Haven Police are investigating the shooting of a teenage girl.
Police say there was a gunfight that happened between two vehicles involved in a chase early Sunday morning in the area of Howard Avenue and Park Street.
A 13-year-old girl who was injured in the gunfire was taken to the Yale-New Haven Hospital Pediatrics Department where she received emergency treatment and was later released. Her injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
Police say surveillance footage led them to a silver Kia S.U.V. and a black Hyundai Elentra.
The two vehicles were found abandoned and running near Asylum Street and Sylvan Avenue. They were both reported stolen.
Investigators say it was not a deliberate attack on the hospital.
