HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)—Hartford police have arrested a juvenile after spotting a stolen vehicle that police determined was involved in a shots-fired incident in Glastonbury.
At about 11:12 p.m. Sunday, members of the Hartford Police Auto Theft Unit, Violent Crimes Unit and Fugitive Task Force saw a stolen Volkswagen Passat traveling in the Westland Street area.
Police then identified the vehicle as a car involved in an incident that involved two suspects shooting at a Glastonbury resident on Friday, July 2.
According to police, at about 3 a.m. Friday, a woman called out to two suspects (a juvenile and another individual) that had approached a car outside her home on Talcott Road.
The suspects then fired two shots in the woman's direction, police said. The woman was not injured, but police said the bullets struck her front door.
After spotting the vehicle Sunday night, the Hartford police officers followed the vehicle until they came to a stop in the area of 20 May Street.
The occupants of the vehicle fled on foot, police said. After a foot pursuit, officers were able to take the driver, a juvenile, into custody. Police also located a loaded firearm with a large capacity magazine, officials said.
Officers charged the juvenile with first-degree larceny, possession of a large capacity magazine and carrying a pistol without a permit. The suspect was taken to juvenile detention.
