Hartford Police investigate two late night 4th of July shootings

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)—Hartford police are investigating two non-fatal shootings that occurred in the last hour of the 4th of July.

At 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Hartford officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim that had arrived at Hartford Hospital for treatment.

According to police, a man in his thirties got to the hospital by car with a gunshot wound to the leg. The man is in stable condition, police said.

Officers determined that the shooting happened around 571 Zion Street.

Later, at about 11:58 p.m., patrol officers arrived to 8 Westland Street with a report of a shooting in the area.

Upon arrival, officers found a man in his twenties suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The man was transported to an area hospital where he is also listed in stable condition, police said.
