Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - A fixture in Connecticut's capital city is closing its doors.
City Steam Brewery and Cafe has been at 942 Main Street for over two decades.
But come March 31st it will close its doors for good.
City Steam started as Brown Thomson and Company in the early 1980s in the historic HH Richardson Building, according to a post on it's Facebook page.
The post reads in part "It is with humble gratitude and a heavy heart that we announce the closing of City Steam Brewery on March 31- after 44 years in business."
Owners say costs continued to climb over the least few years, including for repairs from a pipe burst last year.
City Steam will continue to sell its craft brews in over 15-hundred locations throughout the state.
