HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Fires have burned at several different businesses and residences in Connecticut on Tuesday into Wednesday.
One person is seriously injured after a house at a home on Bonair Hill Road in Tolland. The home was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived to the house around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
While the rest of the people in the home during the Tolland fire were able to make it to a neighboring property safely, there was a man found outside the home in serious medical distress. He was hospitalized for treatment.
The home was completely destroyed.
In Thomaston, several businesses at a plaza, home to the popular Patti's Place on Main Street, went up in flames during an overnight fire. The extreme cold resulted in difficulties with frozen hydrants, hoses, and truck apparatuses.
Residents at an eight-unit apartment building on Waterville Street in Waterbury evacuated the building around 2 a.m. Wednesday, after a fire broke out in one of the units. The building was evacuated as a precaution.
