The Connecticut Department of Correction say an inmate stabbed during a fight Thursday at MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution in Suffield has been treated at a local hospital and returned to the Prison.
The fight involving at least five inmates broke out around 6:40 p.m. Thursday at the high-security facility.
One of the inmates involved in the melee stabbed another inmate with a makeshift weapon.
The inmate who had been stabbed was evaluated at the facility before being transported to a local hospital, where they were treated and released back to the Prison.
The DOC says no correctional staff were injured in breaking up the fight.
The cause of the fight is under investigation.
