Man arrested over fight that led to gunshot at Walmart in Newington

NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Newington Police arrest the alleged aggressor who provoked a man who was legally carrying a gun that led to a shot fired at the Walmart in town on Sunday.

Police say that Rashawn Harris, 26, of Westminster, Maryland, approached a vehicle that was trying to back into a parking space so as to confront the driver for unknown reasons.

The driver got out of the vehicle and got into a verbal argument that ended up becoming a physical fight with Harris.

The driver of the vehicle had a valid pistol permit. Police say that during the altercation, the gun was drawn and a single round was fired.

No one was injured.

Police called Harris the aggressor in the case and are charging him with breach of peace.

Bond is $5,000.
