MILFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Milford Police arrest and charge a Bridgeport man in connection with the death of an infant in the bathtub of a motel in Milford.
Police say Dale Kirkland, 31, of Bridgeport, had been renting the room and checked out Wednesday morning.
It is believed that Kirkland arrived at the motel with the infant Tuesday evening and checked out, leaving the infant behind.
After checkout, police say cleaning staff found the infant unresponsive in a bathtub.
Officers attempted life-saving measures on the infant until paramedics arrived and brought the infant to Yale New Haven Hospital where it was pronounced dead.
Kirkland is charged with risk of injury to a minor and cruelty to persons. Additional charges may be filed.
Bond is $1,000,000.
