MANCHESTER and WINDHAM, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police say the Manchester home invasion suspect was found dead in Windham.
State Police say Rye Shashok, 46, was later found on Jerusalem Road, after State Police responded to the report of a larceny around 5:01 p.m. on Windham Center Road in Windham.
Shashok, upon seeing the police response, fled to a nearby wood line, allegedly firing multiple rounds at responding troopers, according to State Police.
As troopers approached the suspect, he was found dead from self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
No troopers were injured during the incident.
Shashok is accused of carrying out a home invasion on Oakland Street in Manchester, where a victim was held against their will.
