Meriden Police charge suspect in 2019 homicide

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Meriden Police have charged a man they say is responsible for a murder in 2019.

Joseph Stokes, 21, who is currently incarcerated on other pending charges, had an arrest warrant served on him on Monday.

Stokes is charged with felony murder in the death of Aaron Ormsby, on January 17, 2019.

Other charges filed against Stokes include murder, criminal use of a firearm, criminal attempt to commit illegal sale of a firearm, and conspiracy to commit illegal sale of a firearm.

Bond is $2-million.

Police say this investigation is the culmination of over two years of work by the Meriden Police Department Detective Division. It was an effort including the State’s Attorney Office in New Haven, other CT police departments, as well as agencies in other states.
