Now open in Vernon, Connecticut: A new baseball field designed for children with disabilities.
It is called a Miracle Field. This is only the third Miracle Field in Connecticut, with the other two being in East Lyme and West Hartford. Around the country, there are 270 Miracle Fields.
Features included in the new Vernon ballpark include wheelchair accessible dugouts. Also, bases are painted on.
The distance between bases is shorter than on the typical baseball diamond.
Steve Liebowitz, who raised money for the field, calls the new diamond "heaven."
