Hartford police spend nearly a third of 2020 dealing with stolen cars

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Hartford Police say they have spent nearly a third of the days in this year recovering stolen cars.

To date, Hartford Police have recovered 1,025 stolen cars that were taken from out-of-town.


Officials say it takes about 2.5 hours to recover, report, and remove the vehicles when they are discovered. That amounts to 107 days dedicated to recovering out-of-town vehicle thefts.

On Thursday alone, officers arrested four juveniles for stolen cars.
