NEW MILFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - New Milford teachers, parents, students, and community members will rally on Tuesday, May 6, to protest the nearly $2 million in cuts to New Milford’s proposed school budget.
The rally will take place from 5:30-6:30 p.m., just before the scheduled annual Town Meeting. The meeting is scheduled from 7-9 p.m.
The Connecticut Education Association says speakers at the rally and during the meeting will highlight the educational, legal, and moral concerns.
Some town council members have concerns, citing the district's drop in the student population although spending and staffing levels haven't dropped.
